Irish Rovers Top Week at SPAC
The Post-Star, June 19, 1972
The Irish Rovers make a return appearance to Saratoga Performing Arts Center tonight.
The famed quartet from Canada will appear in concert at 8 closing out the second weekend of special events for the seventh season of SPAC.
Friday night Sandler and Young made their second appearance, as did folksinger Melanie on Saturday night. The latter audience, largely lawn crowd, proved an attentive one to the tunes of the young singer, although parts of the performance were marred by some firecrackers exploding.
Most of her offerings were her own selections with her half of the program recorded live by Columbia Records for release this fall.
Last night, Tom Rush, Ken Loggins Band and Jim Messina appeared. The Bugs Bunny Show performed for two matinees yesterday.
SPAC will be dark tomorrow. Wednesday at 8 p.m. the only U.S. performance of the Central Children’s Theatre of Moscow is planned.
Friday at 7 p.m. the Atlanta Children’s Theatre will offer “Johnny Moonbeam.”
