Flutist Jean-Pierre Rampal, above and below left, and Claude Bolling, below far right, kept an almost capacity crowd yelling for more at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Sunday night. Along with members of Bolling’s trio, below center, they performed several of Bolling’s jazz-classical compositions. A composer, pianist, arranger and conductor, Bolling gave four encores Sunday evening, letting loose with improvisations of several jazz favorites.
