Buffalo’s Goo Goo Dolls have certainly come a long way since the days of driving in for gigs at Albany’s QE2. On July 30, they brought their Summer Anthem tour to Saratoga Performing Arts Center. Dashboard Confessional opened up the show.

When the Goo Goo Dolls hit their first chords, the energy shifted. They opened with “Slide,” built up to that spine-tingling “Iris” chorus, then slipped in fresh songs from their upcoming album.
