On July 5, Caffe Lena welcomed two singer-songwriters who have had a significant impact on the Americana community. Kieran Kane is best known as half of the O’Kanes, who had a number one Country hit with “Can’t Stop My Heart from Loving You.” Rayna Gellert is an accomplished fiddler and was a member of the all-female old-time band Uncle Earl. They are responsible for several remarkable records as a duo, and have co-written each other’s solo work as well.

After the first song, Kane said, “That’s about as happy as any song we do is gonna get. Tamp down any expectations of joy.” Their two 45-minutes sets included “Will You Travel Down the Road with Me,” a hit Kane wrote for George Jones and Tammy Wynette that earned him the down payment on a cabin at Great Sacandaga Lake.
