Concert Canceled

N.Y. (AP) – One of the top progressive rock groups, “Emerson, Lake and Palmer,” canceled a 7 p.m. Sunday evening concert here due to damaged equipment.
Officials at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center said upwards of 20,000 had been expected to attend the concert.
Alex King, manager of the group, informed SPAC officials Saturday evening that the group’s equipment had been damaged earlier in the evening during a sudden storm at a concert in Roosevelt, N.J.
“Their one of a kind moog synthesizer, which is the focal point of their show, was heavily damaged,” Craig Hankenson, general manager at SPAC said.
An attempt to find a replacement group failed and officials said late Sunday morning there would be no performance. Officials said ticketholders could receive refunds by mailing their tickets to the Saratoga Festival Box Office here.
